Did you know that there are two proven ways to actually calm the amygdala, the part of the brain involved in processing emotions such as fear and anxiety?
Join us for a discussion with Dr. Kim Norman MD, the inaugural UCSF Distinguished Professor for Adolescent and Young Adult Health and the founder of the UCSF Young Adult and Family Clinic. It’s one of the nation’s first academically based psychiatry programs, dedicated to extending care to transitional-aged youth, young adults, and their families.
Dr. Norman will lead us through the research to understand how a meditation habit and feeling control over your narrative actually tames your amygdala.
This session will be preceded by dinner led by Jennifer Smorgon who has taught meditation and helped build family workshops and practices all over the world.
(Price includes a chef-made farm-to-table meal; all proceeds will go towards JAR Farms retreat scholarships.)
